In 1977 George Lucas created a famous fictional character "Han solo" for the star wars saga and it was played by Harrison Ford. In the Early Sequel of star war's films, Han appears as a self-concerned spice smuggler who accidently becomes the member of rebel movement against the evil Galactic Empire. However the successful completion of the first film and the expanded universe of the later films (The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi), made him an important figure in the Rebel alliance. The creator of Star Wars delineates the character as "a loner who realizes the importance of being part of a group and helping for the common good. The role helped Ford in attaining a superstar status and in launching his film career.
Han solo has a mythological importance in the Star wars Saga as the main theme of all the sequels of the film is about his journey that how he gradually transforms into a moral character. Han is as much a hero as Luke Skywalker, but his journey takes place on the physical plane. In the fifth episode of Star wars, When the Empire attacks the Rebels' base on Hoth Solo transports Chewbacca, Leia, and C-3PO to Cloud City for safety and repairs the Falcon. The bounty hunter Boba Fett tracks the Falcon to Cloud City, and Darth Vader forces Cloud City's administrator, Lando Calrissian to help capture Solo. At that time Leia tells Han Solo that she loves him .Although Calrissian helps free Vader's other captives but they do not succeed in rescuing Solo. However in the start of the sixth episode Leia gain access to Jabba's palace and free solo, after that he rejoins the Alliance as a general.
With the help of Leia and Chewbacca, Han Solo leads a team in deactivating the shields protecting the Empire's second Death Star. Aided by the indigenous Ewoks, Solo and the Rebels succeed in overcoming the Imperial garrison, allowing the Rebels' space forces to destroy the battle station and, with it, the Empire. The Character of Han solo became very popular and acquired worldwide appreciation and there have been several Han solo computer games, merchandise, toys, video games and other collectibles that have been sold in UK and around the world.
